Job Responsibilities:
Ensure effective planning and implementation of educational activities within the project framework by providing technical and administrative support, and contributing to improving the quality of education and access to it in a comprehensive and equitable manner, particularly in crisis and emergency settings. The Education Officer coordinates efforts among field teams, partners, and stakeholders to ensure that educational interventions align with national and international standards and achieve tangible results in formal and non-formal education, enhancing safe and sustainable learning opportunities for target groups.
Tasks and Responsibilities
- Technical supervision of the implementation of education project activities in the targeted governorates, ensuring adherence to quality and the specified timeline.
- Prepare plans to develop the educational capacities of teachers and other education staff within the project framework.
- Design a plan to monitor the quality of education services and provide technical and educational support to coordinators, volunteers, and project staff.
- Develop weekly and monthly work plans for the project and support coordinators and community mobilization volunteers in preparing and periodically reviewing their individual plans.
- Actively participate in planning field visits, including preparing checklists and submitting detailed reports to the project manager.
- Collaborate with the project manager and community mobilizer to prepare a detailed implementation plan, ensuring that implementation is consistent with budget, quality, and timeline.
- Ensure advance planning of activities, document delays or challenges, and develop appropriate solutions.
- Follow up and prepare purchase orders for educational supplies and materials for the project.
- Monitor project spending and ensure its alignment with approved financial plans and the project's duration.
- Provide direct technical support for the implementation of activities such as teacher training, volunteers, and educational staff, community mobilization activities, and the distribution of educational materials to beneficiaries.
- Conduct technical assessments of beneficiary capacities in the targeted areas, design appropriate capacity-building programs, implement technical training, and develop educational materials and guides.
- Follow up on the timely completion of activities and report any delays or challenges to the project manager.
- Conduct regular field visits to provide technical guidance and support, and identify issues requiring urgent interventions.
- Identify challenges and obstacles that may impact implementation and report them to the project manager, proposing appropriate solutions.
- Prepare periodic technical reports and submit them according to the donor agency's requirements.
- Coordinate with local authorities, community leaders, civil society organizations, the Education Cluster, and other stakeholders in the targeted areas.
- Ensure project integration through coordination with other sectors within HUMAN ACCESS.
- Provide ongoing technical support to field coordinators, community mobilization volunteers, and all education staff associated with the project.
- Ensure clear roles and responsibilities for all education staff within the project.
- Facilitate the implementation of training related to education or other areas as needed.
- Provide constructive feedback to contribute to the development of team members' performance and enhance their accountability.
- Evaluate the performance of education staff and volunteers in the field, and provide constructive feedback to improve their performance.
- Promote a collaborative and transparent work environment through partnerships and effective communication.
- Use negotiation and conflict resolution skills to achieve positive outcomes that serve the project's objectives.
- Represent HUMAN ACCESS and the project professionally before government agencies, NGOs, and local communities.
- Attend relevant meetings with partners, particularly the Education Office and the Education Cluster, and contribute actively to them.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure coordination and integration in the implementation of project activities.
- Adhere to HUMAN ACCESS policies and procedures, including the Code of Professional Conduct and administrative instructions.
- Perform any other project-related tasks assigned by the Project Manager.
Job Requirements
Qualifications and Experience
- The applicant must hold a bachelor's degree in education or a related field.
- At least three years of experience working in humanitarian and emergency contexts, with a comprehensive understanding of education needs in crisis-affected environments.

- High supervisory skills in managing and implementing educational projects, with the ability to provide technical and administrative follow-up to ensure efficient and quality achievement of objectives.
- Ability to conduct strategic and operational planning, develop and implement weekly and monthly work plans, and regularly monitor performance.
- Technical skills in the field of education, including curriculum development, capacity building, and providing technical support to educational staff and volunteers.
- Ability to coordinate and network effectively with government agencies, community organizations, local and international partners, and sector working groups (such as the Education Cluster).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to prepare technical reports and address various stakeholders professionally.
- Ability to manage work teams, provide guidance and support to enhance performance and achieve tangible results.
- Ability to solve problems and make decisions, with a focus on finding effective solutions to field and operational challenges.
- Proficiency in using computers, especially MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and monitoring and evaluation systems.
- Flexibility and ability to work under pressure in multicultural environments and changing conditions.
