Project Background

The Girls’ Protection and Empowerment Project – Phase II aims to strengthen community protection systems for girls most at risk of violence, exploitation, and denial of rights. It builds on achievements from Phase I, which raised awareness on child rights, child marriage, gender-based violence, and female genital mutilation. The project also develops referral mechanisms, provides specialized support services, expands prevention and response interventions, and enhances the capacities of abused girls through an entrepreneurial approach.

Overall Purpose of the Position

To provide overall leadership and supervision of the center’s operations and programs, ensuring high-quality services aligned with standards, effective management of human and material resources, and representation of the organization before partners and the local community.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee planning, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of all center programs and activities.
  • Develop periodic operational plans and ensure alignment with project strategic objectives.
  • Lead and guide the center’s team, manage performance, and support professional development.
  • Hold regular team meetings to track progress and address challenges.
  • Ensure quality of services provided and compliance with child protection standards and policies.
  • Review periodic reports and ensure accuracy before submission to senior management.
  • Manage the center’s budget and operational expenses within delegated authority.
  • Conduct regular community needs assessments to improve programs and services.
  • Act as focal point for coordination with local stakeholders in the center’s area of operation.
  • Represent the organization in local meetings related to child protection and humanitarian services.
  • Build and strengthen networks with service providers and stakeholders to improve referrals and access to services.
  • Supervise financial and material resources of the center and ensure proper use.
  • Monitor staff attendance, leave, and compliance with organizational policies.
  • Ensure a safe and supportive work environment for staff and beneficiaries.
  • Report any safety or protection risks immediately to senior management.
  • Perform any other tasks assigned by the Project Management.

Qualifications and Experience

  • University degree in Management, Social Work, Psychology, Education, or related field.
  • Minimum of 4 years’ supervisory or managerial experience in the humanitarian or development sector.
  • Proven experience in child protection or empowerment programs.
  • Experience in team management and leadership.
