Project Background

The Girls’ Protection and Empowerment Project – Phase II aims to strengthen community protection systems for girls most at risk of violence, exploitation, and denial of rights. It builds on achievements from Phase I, which raised awareness on child rights, child marriage, gender-based violence, and female genital mutilation. The project also develops referral mechanisms, provides specialized support services, expands prevention and response interventions, and enhances the capacities of abused girls through an entrepreneurial approach.

Overall Purpose of the Position

To manage and lead the project, ensuring high-quality implementation of all activities, achieving objectives within the set timeframe and budget.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise implementation of all project activities with quality and within timeframe and budget.
  • Facilitate problem-solving during activity implementation.
  • Ensure effective coordination and collaboration among departments and stakeholders.
  • Monitor project expenditures and forecasts; manage disbursements and budget.
  • Develop and maintain weekly and monthly work plans with the project team, including weekly monitoring meetings.
  • Prepare and update procurement plans; ensure timely request and delivery of materials.
  • Ensure staff are well-trained and provide technical support when needed.
  • Supervise team members working with community committees.
  • Organize regular coordination meetings with the team.
  • Attend internal and external coordination meetings.
  • Coordinate with the monitoring and evaluation team to ensure timely and quality implementation.
  • Submit regular (monthly and periodic) reports with proper drafting.
  • Adhere to child protection policy and zero tolerance for child abuse.
  • Comply with all child protection guidelines and procedures.
  • Perform any other related tasks as required by the Project Manager or donor.

Qualifications and Experience

  • University degree in Business Administration, Sociology, Psychology, Counseling, Law, or related field.
  • Very good level of English.
  • Minimum of 4 years’ experience in child protection, especially child protection programs.
